NOTICE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS                                                              

 

THE LOCAL AUDIT (PUBLIC ACCESS TO LOCAL DOCUMENTS) ACT 2017 CHAPTER 25                               

ACCOUNTS AND AUDIT REGULATIONS 2015 REGULATIONS 14 & 15                                               

NOTICE is given that during the periods and times specified below:

Monday 3 July to Friday 11 August 2017

between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.

any persons interested or any journalist (‘journalist’ means any person who produces for publication journalistic material, whether paid to do so or otherwise) may inspect, and make copies of the statement of accounts of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Durham and the Group and the accounts of the Chief Constable of Durham Constabulary for the year ended 31st March 2017 and all documents relating to them.  The accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at the offices of the Chief Constable, Police Headquarters, Aykley Heads, Durham. Applications to inspect the accounts should be made in writing to Julie Diamond at the above address.

NOTICE is also given that, a local government elector may question the auditor about the accounting records for the financial year ended 31 March 2017. A local government elector may make an objection to the auditor which concerns a matter in respect of which the auditor could make a public interest report, or concerns an item of account in respect of which the auditor could apply for a declaration that the item is unlawful under the Act.  These rights may be exercised from:

Monday 3 July to Friday 11 August 2017

Any requests to question the auditor and any objections must be made in writing to the auditor at the following address: Mark Kirkham, Mazars LLP, Salvus House, Aykley Heads, Durham, DH1 5TS

A copy of the notice must also be sent at the same time to the Chief Finance Officer, Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Durham, Police Headquarters, Aykley Heads, Durham, DH1 5TT.
