What we are looking for:
Tenders are currently being sought for the provision of a small deli-type – nil subsidy catering services for the Office of the Durham Police, Crime and Victims Commissioner.
The contract is based at our headquarters site (Aykley Heads, Co Durham) where facilities are free to use and comprise of a main preparation and storage area with integral servery, wash-up area and refrigeration and freezer facilities only.
There is no mechanical extraction suitable for hot food cooking within the kitchen facility (having been designed for deli-type catering) , therefore traditional on-site hot cooking/grilling/frying facilities are not available. However, we are open to innovative ways of working.
The contractor is free to use other facilities at their disposal for preparation and cooking and to transport produce onto site.
The cafeteria will need to provide a service available to all headquarters staff and visitors, and will be required to cater for both formal and informal functions as and when required. This includes buffet catering/working lunches and teas/coffees. There may also be the requirement to cater for operational events at various locations.
The cafeteria will be expected to provide hot and cold items and snacks such as pastries, jacket potatoes, cakes, soups and sandwiches.
