Back for its third year! Residents will have the chance to find out more about the work of our real-life local superheroes in our FREE family fun day!
When and where...?
Hosted by Ron Hogg, the Durham Police, Crime and Victims' Commissioner, the event is FREE, with free parking, and will be held on Saturday 28 October 2017 at Locomotion, The National Railway Museum in Shildon from 10am – 3pm (and this year, until 12pm, it will also be autism-friendly!)
Who and what...?
It will showcase and raise awareness of all the good work that is happening in our local communities. Emergency services, including the police (and the Police Interceptors), fire service and other organisations, e.g. various council and voluntary services will be on hand with activities, competitions and demonstrations.
New activities will also be showcased this year, including ‘Prison Me No Way!’, who provide an experience of what it would be like to be locked in a cell.
Other community safety organisations who make a difference to people’s everyday lives will also be on hand with fun family activities and to provide information and advice, giving families and individuals a better understanding of what they do and how they can help.
Activities and demonstrations include police vehicles, dog displays, Crime Scene Investigation activities, a children's treasure hunt, Halloween or Superhero fancy dress competition, emergency service dogs, fire service, Interceptors, Mountain Rescue, competitions galore, with prizes and much more.
We'll post updates right here on our event page. There's no need to book, just share the event with your friends, families and colleagues, and turn up on the day (either with, or without, fancy dress!)
