PCC attends East Durham Trust Annual Conference
Ron Hogg, Durham’s Police and Crime Commissioner attended the East Durham Trust Annual Conference at the Glebe Centre in Murton on Thursday 14th November.
East Durham Trust is a Registered Charity whose purpose is to promote the regeneration of rural and urban areas suffering from the effects of social and economic decline. The Trust is the flagship voluntary and community sector organisation for the area and as well as providing the traditional support to local Community groups and managing the local Volunteer Centre, the organisation also manages a range of projects and contracts.
Mr Hogg spoke at the conference to give an insight into the links between crime and deprivation, given that the theme of this year’s event is to look at the issue of austerity and public spending cuts and how this affects communities.
The Conference is very much embedded as part of the voluntary and community sector calendar and secures a significant attendance with over 200 people taking part last year.
