PCC hosts Show Racism the Red Card event in Durham
Councillors and leaders from Durham and Darlington County Councils will be joining Show Racism the Red Card at the Durham Council Chambers on Friday 25th April 2014 to teach youngsters about the dangers of racism.
Councillors will be joined by youngsters from Kelloe Primary School, former-Sunderland defender Gary Bennett and former-Middlesbrough player Dean Gordon as well as former Newcastle United players Olivier Bernard and Richard Offiong.
During the events young people will take part in anti-racism activities, view our new DVD and have the chance to pose questions to a panel of ex-professional footballers.
Educational worker at Show Racism the Red Card Richard Offiong said: “We’re delighted to be returning to Durham County Council and to be showcasing our workshops to Councillors in the area.
“The young people from Durham will no doubt benefit from the event, and we hope the footballers can inspire them with the anti-racism message.
“The support that Durham PCC Ron Hogg and Durham County Council have given us over the years shows their commitment to tackling racism in society.”
The event at the Durham Council Chamber will run from 1pm to 2.40pm on Friday 25th April 2014.
