Recover Walk News Update
The 7th annual UK Recovery Walk, supported by Ron Hogg, Durham's Police and Crime Commissioner, was held in Durham on Saturday 12 September 2015. Client’s, staff, family and friends from Darlington and services throughout the UK attended to celebrate the achievements of individuals in recovery and to raise a visible awareness of substance use disorders and RECOVERY from addiction.
The day involved a walk through Durham city centre, where client’s raised their recovery banners whilst a band played loud and proud to raise awareness that recovery is possible creating a fantastic atmosphere.
After the walk, there was a recovery festival at the Sands which included guest speakers, live music, information stalls from AA, NA and SMART, table tennis, a climbing wall and food stalls.
Everyone who attended commented on how they had a fantastic day and are looking forward to next years walk in Halton.
