This is the website of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for County Durham and Darlington. The Office supports whichever PCC is elected by the public so the PCC can carry out his or her duties.
To ensure fairness amongst candidates, the Office of the Durham Police and Crime Commissioner are restricted in making public announcements in the run up to the election until 5 May. Any news items or photographs published on this website (and our social media channels) before 30 March 2016 relate to the current PCC, Ron Hogg. We do not support any political party and cannot endorse any of the candidates in the election.
We will treat all PCC candidates fairly and equally and we are preparing to support the successful candidate, whoever is elected. All PCCs will remain in post for seven days after the election, with the new term of office starting on 12 May 2016.
Because the office does not support any one candidate, references to the current PCC, Ron Hogg, were removed from the face of the website on 23 March 2016. Some documents containing references to the current PCC have been retained as attachments on the site because they remain valid and current. This does not imply that the Office supports his candidacy in the election on 5 May.
General information is available for members of the public as well as specific information for PCC candidates, partners and the media.
