Fire Cadets won last years Cadet Challenge
WHAT: Members of the press are invited to attend the ‘one-month to go’ launch event taking place this Wednesday, which will announce the count-down to this year’s Celebration of Local Superheroes event.
In addition to some familiar faces from the Police, Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency services and local community organisations, the public will have the opportunity to experience new activities and demonstrations, including ‘Prison Me No Way!’ who provide an experience of what it would be like to be locked in a cell.
Hosted by Ron Hogg, Police, Crime and Victims’ Commissioner (PCVC) for County Durham and Darlington, his annual FREE family fun day will take place on Saturday 28th October, between 10.00am and 3.00pm (and is autism-friendly until 12pm).
Ron said: “I’m delighted to announce this year’s free family event is taking place again, on the last Saturday in October. It really has grown year-on-year, with more families having the opportunity to come along and enjoy themselves, whilst learning about community safety. People can get involved in activities and demonstrations by volunteers and by the emergency services, who are our real-life local superheroes.”
