PCVC Launches new Plan to for tackling crime and support victims

What:

Media are invited to the launch of the Police Crime and Victims’ Plan 2018-2021.  The plan sets out the PCVC’s Vision, and the outcomes to achieve, along with the priority areas which he will focus on.

When:

  • Date: Monday 16 July 2018
  • Time: 1pm
  • Location: Police Headquarters, Aykley Heads, Durham DH1 5TT.

Background

The PCVC vision is “County Durham and Darlington are areas where all communities are safe, victims and vulnerable people feel supported, crime and reoffending are low, and people have confidence in policing and the criminal justice system’.

The refreshed Plan once again emphasises the role of the PCVC in holding the Constabulary to account, and also emphasises the PCVC’s work with a wide partnership of organisations.

The plan introduces four ‘outcomes’, replacing the three ‘aims’ in the current plan. This change emphasises the importance of delivery, in partnership.  It also takes the objectives of the Local Criminal Justice Partnership (LCJP) Plan, and the action plans of the two Community Safety Partnerships and associates them with the new outcomes of the Plan. This therefore shows how the plan is being delivered by a wider partnership of organisations.

Available for interview are:

  • Ron Hogg, Durham Police, Crime and Victims’ Commissioner

There will be 1:1 interview opportunities with the PCVC.  There will also be a photo opportunities with the PCVC and the wider partners who will be in attendance. Including representatives from the Police and Crime Panel, Durham Constabulary, County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, Durham County Council, and HMP Durham.

If you wish to attend, please contact Sarah Harris on 07814 174417 or email pcvc.media@durham.pcc.pnn.gov.uk
