New Young Police, Crime and Victims' Commissioner Elected

16 Year Ellen Terry has been elected as Young Police, Crime and Victims’ Commissioner for County Durham and Darlington for 2018-19.  

Members of the press are invited to meet with the new Young Police Crime and Victims’ Commissioner, accompanied by Ron Hogg, Police Crime and Victims’ Commissioner.

  1. Ellen Terry, of Belmont Durham who is studying at Durham Sixth Form Centre, was elected by Police Cadets to be the third Young Police, Crime and Victims’ Commissioner (PCVC) representing young people in County Durham and Darlington.

In her manifesto, Ellen indicated that she would give priority during her year in office to:

  • Increasing the perceptions of the police.
  • Improving substance misuse education for young people
  • Improving outcomes for victims of mental health
