Eight successful winners received their prizes from Ellen Terry, Young Police Crime and Victims’ Commissioner at Police Headquarters last night.

The fun competitions were organised by Ron Hogg, Durham Police Crime and Victims’ Commissioner as part of his celebration of Local Superhero Event in June, and also at some of the summer shows he attends.  The competitions included guessing the number of fluffy bugs in the jar; treasure hunt; word search and name an Alpaca.  Prizes included High Street Vouchers, family train ride at Locomotion, a large Plush Bug, and a bike amongst other things.

The winners were invited to a small reception at Police Headquarters, where they were surprised by Jet and Ben and their handler Claire Kerr.

Ellen Terry, Young PCVC said “It’s been great to represent Ron tonight and meet the competition winners from the Local Celebration of Superheroes event and other events the team has been to. The competitions make the events so much fun and give the team the opportunity to talk to the parents about what we do.”

Winners were:

Harrison Noble, Andrew Bradley, Annie McGilloway, Jessica Causer, Ebonie Holmes-Wilson, Lewis Turnbull, Nate O’Hern and Vicky Marshall. There were also three other winners who were unable to attend on the evening.
