Modern Slavery

'Tackle and prevent Modern Slavery'  is one of the Police Crime and Victims' Commissioners policies.

Ensure effective mechanisms are in place so that victims can recognise when they have been trafficked and/or enslaved and have the confidence and knowledge to report it.

 In 2019 hosted an event 'Modern Slavery - Closer then you think'  to put a spotlight on these issues and provide advice and guidance about how to identify someone who may be a victim and where to find advice and guidance on action to address these concerns.

The event was attended by a range of businesses, employers and those with licensing responsibilities who heard from key organisation who provide support to victims.
