The Office of the Durham, Police, Crime and Victims’ Commissioner launch their brand-new website today.

The refreshed look replaces the dated website which had been in place since the Police and Crime Commissioner replaced the Police Authority in 2012. The website has been created to be more user-friendly and easier to navigate.

Apart from having a clean, colourful look, it is now more focused on highlighting the Police & Crime Plan, easier for the public to contact the office and site searching has been optimised on the homepage.

New graphics, videos and images can now be viewed with ease making it more inclusive and accessible to the 1 in 5 people in the UK that have a long-term illness, impairment, or disability*. The site is mobile friendly, performing well on mobile devices with its adaptive design.

It is now easier to contact the office with a new web form submission feature, where the public can submit a query direct to the General Enquiries team through a simple online form.

Steve White, Acting Police, Crime and Victims’ Commissioner said: “Our aim with the new design has been to enable greater accessibility for the public, and to demonstrate the identity and statutory functions of the office, ahead of welcoming a new PCC after the elections which will be taking place in May 2021.

“It provides another platform for us to share important information and offers a quick and easy way for the public to engage with us via a new web form request feature.”
