Within the Durham Police and Crime Commissioner's Office we work in partnership with various organisations and charities to achieve our goals.
Partnership working is key for the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), there is a strong history of partnership working across County Durham and Darlington and the region.
Many areas of policing and crime cannot be tacked by a single agency, for example, anti-social behaviour, as they need a coordinated approach from a variety of partners to ensure that effective and efficient solutions can be found to tackle these problems.
Partnership working has been given further importance as the PCC will be responsible for a variety of funding streams from 2013 which were previously allocated directly to other partners.
This means that the partners will have to come together with the PCC to address issues and collaborate to find solutions.
Both Local Authority Areas within the Constabulary area have an overall partnership which is underpinned by a series of thematic partnerships including, Community Safety Partnerships (The Safe Durham Partnership and Darlington Community Safety Partnership).
Effective partnership working has led to positive outcomes for the communities of County Durham and Darlington as these areas continue to be among the safest places to live and work in the UK.
Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) will work with a variety of partners in both the public and voluntary and Community Sectors.
The key partners include:
