Meetings held at Police Headquarters, Aykley Heads, Durham (with hybrid / virtual attendance available by agreement)
Salary:
An allowance per meeting (plus reimbursement of travel expenses)

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to strong governance,transparency and public accountability within policing by becoming anIndependent Member of the Joint Independent Audit Committee (JIAC).

The Committee provides independent advice and assurance to the Policeand Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable on the effectiveness ofgovernance arrangements across the Office of the Police and Crime Commissionerand Durham Constabulary. This includes oversight of risk management, internalcontrol, financial reporting, audit and value for money.

As an Independent Member, you will play a key role at the heart of anorganisation serving communities across our area, supporting the delivery ofthe Police, Crime and Justice Plan and helping to ensure that public resourcesare managed effectively, ethically and transparently.

You will join a professionally respected committee where independence ofmind, sound judgement and constructive challenge are valued, and whereyour experience can make a genuine contribution to public confidence inpolicing.
